ChopCue
Terms of Service
These terms are written in plain language on purpose. By using ChopCue, you agree to them.
1. License to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use ChopCue on devices you own, for your own cooking. Don't copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app or its built-in recipe content outside the app.
2. One-time purchase
- The Full Unlock is a one-time purchase ($9.99 at time of writing). It is not a subscription — there are no recurring charges, ever.
- Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), and their terms and refund policies apply. We never see your payment details.
- The unlock is platform-specific: a purchase made through Apple applies to your Apple account, and a purchase through Google applies to your Google account. It does not transfer between Apple and Google. It restores on new devices via the same store account ("Restore purchases").
- Prices may change for future buyers; a completed purchase is never re-billed.
3. Your content (shared recipes)
- You own what you create. Recipes, ingredients, and feedback you write are yours.
- When you submit a recipe for sharing, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that recipe within ChopCue (including the Explore feed) once it is approved. This license exists so the feature can work; it ends for content you delete, except for copies already downloaded/saved by other users and short-term backups.
- Only share what you have the right to share. No content that is illegal, infringing (e.g., copied verbatim from a copyrighted cookbook), hateful, deceptive, unsafe (e.g., recipes with dangerous instructions), or spam.
- Moderation: shared recipes go live immediately without pre-publication review. We rely on user reports and our own review to catch content that breaks these rules, and may reject, remove, or edit-for-safety any content after publication, and suspend sharing privileges for accounts that break these rules, at our discretion.
- Likes, dislikes, and feedback must be genuine and civil.
4. Accounts
You don't need an account to cook. Community features (Explore, family sharing, the activity feed) require one. Keep your credentials secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app.
5. Food safety disclaimer
Recipes — ours and the community's — are provided for general information. Cooking times, temperatures, and ingredients vary; you are responsible for safe food handling, checking doneness, and managing allergies and dietary restrictions. ChopCue is not medical or nutritional advice.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
ChopCue is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that community content is accurate.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChopCue is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of data or profits, arising from your use of ChopCue. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app (i.e., at most $9.99). Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.
8. Termination
You can stop using ChopCue at any time. We may suspend or terminate community access for violations of these terms. Sections 3 (license to already-distributed content), 6, 7, and 9 survive termination.
9. Governing law
These terms will be governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Bahrain, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to your local courts.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted in the app or store listing with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
