ChopCue

Delete your account & data

This page explains how to delete your ChopCue account and what happens to your data when you do.

Option 1: Delete it yourself, in the app

  1. Open ChopCue and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap your account card at the top of the screen.
  4. Tap Delete account.
  5. Confirm the deletion. If you signed in with an email/password, you'll re-enter your password first; if you signed in with Google only, you'll confirm with Google instead — either way, our authentication provider requires this recent-sign-in check before any account can be deleted.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

Prefer not to use the app, or can't sign in? Email support@chopcue.com from the address associated with your account and ask us to delete it. We will action the request and reply once it's done.

What gets deleted

What's kept, and why

Recipes you shared publicly, and your public profile entry, are anonymized rather than hard-deleted — your name and account link are removed, but the underlying content isn't torn out of other users' feeds or the Explore listing wholesale. Community content already interacted with (likes, comments made by other people on your former posts) may briefly persist during this process for moderation and abuse-prevention purposes, then is cleaned up within a reasonable period.

Local data stored only on your own device — your library of created/imported recipes, prep bundles, pantry and shopping list, drafts, and app preferences — is not something ChopCue's servers hold at all, so account deletion does not touch it. Deleting the app itself, or clearing its local storage, removes that data.

We never hold your payment details — purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google, and account deletion has no effect on that (nor does it refund a purchase).
